There is Snow on the Ground in Cambodia...

...and by Cambodia I mean South Philadelphia. A quick stroll around my new neighborhood proved there is more to South Philly than cheesesteaks. I guess learning the local language will come in handy after you return home.

Seeing these Cambodian owned businesses in Philadelphia made me do a little digging. Here are two features from the Philadelphia Inquirer about Camobian Americans in Philadelphia (and in American in general)

I miss snow! You know Adam, there are almost NO Cambodian restaurants in NYC! I found a new one that just opened last year, but then in South Bend, IN, I found two! :-) Good to know there are places to get Amok if/when I go home! :-) We miss you!

Hey! I had no idea there was a Cambodian immigrant population significant enough in Philly to warrant Khmer-scripted shop signs! and Cambodian-owned businesses - that's really great.

Ooh - if you ever want delicious Khmer fare (probably including amok and ice coffees and prahok and ANYTHING else you could imagine), you should head on over to Lowell, MA - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowell,_Massachusetts.

And you can ring me up and we can eat fried rice and chat about rap music and livin the thug life. :) Say hello to the cold weather for me!

Adam, this is really cool. Who knew!? However, I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't have the same good luck finding amok and ice coffees when I get back to Kentucky... Take care, awesome dude. When do you go to Copenhagen?
