A 23 year old Spanish-American that is currently working on the JET Program in the Japanese countryside.
My experience with PEPY involved:
Just the upcoming trip during Golden Week!
My favorite PEPY memories are:
I'll fill this in after I have my trip...
Since my time with PEPY, I have been:
Check above.
My plans for the future include:
Achieve 2kyu level on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, perhaps join the Peace Corp, eventually work back in the States using Japanese and maybe Spanish.
I am inspired by:
My family, God, the goodness in people, and those kinda cheesy songs played during the 'training' part of any good sports movie.
basically, someone puts together a team. each team member donates 2000yen to PEPY (either from their own pocket, or through fundraising) and they participate in a bike ride with fellow JETs and friends, in their prefectures, over the weekend of april 25th and 26th. after the event the team leader submits a document with details of the bike ride, and honours are awarded for teams who did the best in a variety of categories.
its supposed to just be a fun event, that encourages people to get out on their bikes, discover their prefecture a bit, spend time with friends, or make new ones, while promoting PEPY and raising some money too!
Dude, you are like totally right!!!! Because I am Latin not Hispanic..... I should have known better....Actually, If I really want to get technical, I am not even Latin, but Mexica (Pronounced Meshica)....but thats a whole other can of worms. Hahahaha. My apologies.
