I am from Los Angeles, currently going to grad school at City in NYC. I love to travel, play sports, especially snowboarding, meet new people, and learn new things. I am good at hula hooping. Nicole and I will be leading the Golden Week 2008 Trip! Can't wait to meet everybody!
My experience with PEPY involved:
Learning a lot about Cambodia, and the struggles associated with development, poverty, and education. Our volunteer group worked hard at the PEPY ride school, and developed a strong bond not only with the children at the school, but also with each other. Everyone in the group brought a specific quality and was able to contribute in a unique way. All of our work brought smiles to the childrens faces, as well as to our wonderful sensei , Tolures!!
My favorite PEPY memories are:
Hanging out with the children, not showering, teaching the kids how to say hello in 7 different languages, listening to Daniella and her endless knowledge of the Cambodian infrastructure. The food was delicious, especially when sharing it with the Siem Reap Locals. We also enjoyed Happy Pizza and Tuk Tuk rides.
Since my time with PEPY, I have been:
I returned to teaching in Shizuoka Japan, climbed the great wall of China, and then came back to the US to attend grad school. I have mastered the NYC subway, and am looking forward to returning to Cambodia in May!
My plans for the future include:
Finish Grad School in December of this year, and as of now, I plan to head to Salt Lake City!!
I am inspired by:
Daniella ! Her dedication to PEPY and Cambodia never cease to Amaze me. I am looking forward to working with her again.
