About myself:
From Croydon, south of London.
Teaching English in Gifu, Japan and I can't believe how quickly the clock is ticking :(

Went to Sussex Uni in Brighton ('03-'06) to study Psychology and got well into the Neuroscience side of it - fascinating stuff.
My experience with PEPY involved:
Had an amazing time in Northern Cambodia in May 2008. I fully enjoyed every moment there and want to go back to enjoy it all over again.

Pre-PEPY experience - I organised a fund raising event for the 2008 GW trip.
Cycle Ride around Lake Biwa, Japan on April 12th/13th.

The bike ride was great fun, no accidents, no rain and lots of dosh collected! Riding at the rear end of a tandem was also a fantatic way to see the scenery around Lake Biwa.

If anyone in the the surrounding prefectures of Biwa-ko fancy using this as a fundraising event for their PEPY trips in the future I'd be more than happy to pass on all the things that helped us, like the maps, easy to use directions, even t-shirt designs that can be easily altered, as well as the contact details for Eco-Style bike hire shop (in Hikone) and the BBDylan pension we stayed at (in Omi-maiko).
My favorite PEPY memories are:
Meeting Sokgia, Rithy and Nyao at the Reaksmey school, in Preah Vihear province. In fact, all the kiddies on both the Angkor Wat and Reaksmey school visits were a joy to be with and learning Khmer games was a right laugh - loved the dancing from the loosing team.

Although it wasn't a 'favourite' I'll never forget being woken up by a huge geko scurrying over my head in the jungle - a definite PEPY memory.
My plans for the future include:
My dream is to run an eco-friendly back-packers.
I am inspired by:
...lots of things.

This really is a tough one to answer cos there are sooooo many things out there to inspire me, like the things my god-daughter does back home that make me miss her even more, and the numerous amounts of things people do that change others' lives for the better. mmmmm, tough one to answer in a nutshell indeed.

harrooo!! yep, the bike ride went splendidly, going tandem style was a great laugh too but sore bums was definately the worst thing about it all. 22 people took part and we raised 37,000yen which was brill - if I was here next year I would definately do it again and ask participants to actually raise funds at their schools etc, like a minumum donation to take part - that would really generate a lot of dosh for PEPY.

Well done on the t-shirt front - did you put your design forward for the GW trip t-shirt?

Sure am excited about the trip - got my head lamp yesterday, how exciting is that!?!

Hey!!! How was the bike ride? I spoke to Nicole a few days ago and she said it was good fun though sore bums all round afterwards! Did lots of people take part?

T-shirts worked out just fine yeah. We sold more than half of them at a charity event that Suk held last weekend, (it was a scavenger hunt, bonus points awarded for those who bought tshirts!) and have sold the leftovers to friends.

I'm getting really excited about the trip, though don't really feel like I've done enough preparation. Need to sort myself out tomorrow I think! Want to buy new shorts, but god knows where I'll find any that fit in Japan!!!
