The moment I during the December 2006 Volunteer Trip when I realized things were actually going well, playing the bracelet opening game with D and Audrey, intern skinny dip session at Bodhi Villa, Bokor and the School, 13.1 miles through the temples, coming back for two days in Nov '07

At the Finish Line: Results from the First Annual 30 Days of NING Contest

Thoughts on coming back

My first experience with PEPY was an amazing voluntourism cliché, the type that many people have during their first trip to the third world. We showed up and gave the dirty but adorable kids things we thought they desperately needed like toothbrushes and Spanish lessons. I ate it all up. "The country is full of people who need things and I could totally help them." It seemed just that simple. Oh that picture is MUCH better :-) yeah! BTW, I got a straight perm again (doh! so not PEPY!) so I now look like my picture and not like an electricuted Shirley Temple :-)
