So we're starting a PEPY book club. Want to join us? Our staff is all (or almost all) going to read a book a month together and meet at the end of the month to discuss our thoughts, how it relates to our work here etc. Our first pick for May? William Easterly's "The White Man's Burden".
Want to join us in exploring this book and how it is applicable to the work we do here? Pick up the book this month and keep an eye out for notes about our discussion time. We might even arrange a time where we can do a web conference of sorts and discuss. If you're in Cambodia and want to come by and borrow a copy, stop on by our office
I'd like to suggest Loung Ung's "First They Killed My Father" as a possible future Book Club candidate. This was the book that first educated me about Cambodia and events of the Khmer Rouge years.
Thanks for the suggestion Robert! Definitey a good one to keep in mind for the future. We actually had the priveledge of meeting Loung Ung about a year and a half ago when she joined the PEPY Ride II for an evening in Phnom Penh. Such an inspiration!
FYI, I'm going to close this discussion so we keep the Book Club discussions centered on the main page. Check out the main book club GROUP and that discussion board for further info!
